So, we still find some obstacle in the field, like stigma and discrimination. Some [people with HIV find it] very difficult to talk with their partner about their condition. Also, about safer sex. Maybe Catherine has some literature related how to reduce that problem…. ? I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Specialists in Addis Ababa and the Philippines wrote in expressing interest in finding such materials.  A response soon came from a colleague at the University of California, San Francisco

Hello,

We are working with a team of researchers on HIV/AIDS stigma in southern Africa
(http://aidsnursingucsf.org/stigma/stigma.html).

We’ve been collecting data, and are now pilot testing a small intervention in each of the five countries (Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania).

We also found two intervention programs that you can download for free. One is from EngenderHealth (http://www.engenderhealth.org/res/offc/hiv/stigma/index.html), and the other is from ICRW (http://www.icrw.org/html/issues/hivaids.htm).
