Health Information and Publications Network (HIPNET) is a mission-driven partnership that addresses a key public health need for access to technical health information and innovative information technologies that strengthen the performance and sustainability of health care programs, organizations, and services around the world. HIPNet facilitates collaboration among organizations that produce and disseminate print and electronic information in the field of international health. Through quarterly meetings, bi-annual conferences, an online resource center, an email forum and other activities, HIPNet ensures that member investments in health information materials and technologies are efficient, effective, and widely used. HIPNET is funded by the United States Agency for International Development.


The next meeting of Health Information and Publications Network (HIPNet) will be Thursday October 15 from 11am to 3pm at University Research Co., LLC (URC) in Bethesda. Please join us! As URC has graciously offered to provide lunch, it is imperative that you RSVP to lraney@fhi.org. The agenda is below, along with directions. We look forward to seeing you there!

•11:00 - 11:15 Welcome and Introductions

•11:15 - 12:00 Presentation and discussion on "Social networking tools, tactics, and strategies" - Suzanne Rainey, ForumOne Communications

•12:00 - 12:45 Presentation and discussion on "Blogs and using social networking to extend our messages and work with our members" - Tina Flores, Global Health Council

•12:45-1:45 Lunch and informal networking - provided by URC, thus please RSVP

•1:45-2:30 Presentation and discussion on "Web-based systems for gathering and sharing knowledge about improving health care" - Lani Marquez, University Research Co.

•2:30-3:00 Other announcements, updates from members, materials sharing, and chosing the topic, date and venue for the next meeting.

The closest metro is Bethesda (red line). Upon exiting the station, head to your right, past the Hyatt Hotel. URC is two blocks south of the Hyatt Hotel on the corner of Wisconsin and Bethesda Avenues, in the Artery Plaza building.

If you are driving, please park in the garage located under our building. Enter from Bethesda Avenue, about halfway down the block on your right from Wisconsin Avenue. Park in the garage marked HOURLY. Bring your ticket with along with you. When you arrive, ask the Receptionist for a parking sticker, which will allow you to exit the garage without having to pay.
